award winning... this new build development in the heart of brighton, uses modern methods of construction to provide much needed, dedicated office space in the city centre. spread over four floors the building uses the stairwell to aid natural ventilation and bring natural light into the floor plates.
the building is constructed using structurally insulated panels (sips) which, along with the roof, were prefabricated before being delivered to site and erected as a kit of parts. the roof form curves up to a storey and a half height at the rear of the building to maximise the ingress of natural light on this tight urban site.
the building was awarded a sussex heritage award in 2007 for commercial development.
